_Module 1 Discussion 2
Q Choose one building, interior or exterior, designed by Brunelleschi.
Introduce the building, its construction dates, and original function.
Then, analyze it for Roman architectural influences.
One work of Filippo Brunelleschi that I have chosen is Pazzi Chappel and my focus is on the interior of the Chapel. It is located on the first cloister of the Southern flank of the Basilica di Santa Croce in Florence. Its construction started in 1429 and was completed and opened in 1443 and the style of the building is influenced by Renaissance architecture. It is used by the Santa Croce friars as the chapter house. It has an entrance that is supported by columns called Corinthian that is placed just next to the Central arch.
